1. Treating a wet, phlegmy cough

lungs

Medical studies show that mucolytic medication can reduce the intensity of a wet cough.5,8 Acetylcysteine, the active ingredient in ACC®, helps to reduce phlegmy coughing within four to five days of starting treatment.8

Acetylcysteine thins the phlegm produced by the lower airways and makes it more liquid so that it’s easier to cough up.8

2. Treating snotty sinuses

snotty nose

Acetylcysteine’s thinning effect on thick or sticky mucus makes it easier to clear out your nasal passages and sinuses.5 This eases the discomfort and pressure that comes with sinus congestion.5

Did you know? Clearing the mucus and phlegm from your sinuses, nasal passages and lungs can also help to prevent a more serious infection from developing there.9
